Magnetometry | Quantum Sensing | Spins on surfaces
We are a vibrant international team of researchers coming from three countries and three continents. Also, we are thrilled to be scaling up soon with a new technical assistant, more PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers!
Our experiments involve the usage of solid state quantum sensor (NV-center) for probing very small magnetic fields associated with isolated spins or complex spin textures on various surfaces. Often such systems exhibit intriguing nanoscale properties, which are obscured in a typical ensemble averaged measurements. The usage of a nanoscale highly sensitive probe in our experiments thus offers a very strong complementary approach. Our state-of-the-art microscopes allow us to perform such measurements both at ambient conditions as well as at the extreme conditions of UHV 4 K.
