Magnetometry | Quantum Sensing | Spins on surfaces

We are a vibrant international team of researchers coming from five countries and three continents. Also, we are thrilled to be scaling up soon more PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers!  

Our experiments involve the usage of solid state quantum sensor (NV-center) for probing very small magnetic fields associated with isolated spins or complex spin textures on various surfaces. Often such systems exhibit intriguing nanoscale properties, which are obscured in a typical ensemble averaged measurement. The usage of a nanoscale highly sensitive probe in our experiments thus offers a very strong complementary approach. Our state-of-the-art microscopes allow us to perform such measurements both at ambient conditions as well as at the extreme conditions of UHV 4 K.
