The aim of the project is to search for novel frustrated materials, their targeted synthesis and their chemical modification with special emphasis on structures with magnetic ions on triangular lattices. Two main structural directions are pursued: thio- and seleno-delafossites and structurally related compounds with rare earth metal ions on regular triangular lattices, and rare earth transition metal pnictides with atoms of both metal species in a trigonal arrangement.
