I studied Psychology (BSc) and Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (MSc) at Technische Universität Dresden. During my master's thesis I investigated sensorimotor involvement in native and foreign language processing under the supervision of Brian Mathias. I will continue working on sensorimotor involvement in foreign language acquisition during my time as a PhD student here in the lab.
I am fascinated by languages and how we as humans acquire and use them. As such, I strive towards a better understanding of the neural and cognitive mechanisms underlying language processing and language acquisition. This may hopefully enable us to find ways of learning foreign languages both more effectively and efficiently. In my work I am currently looking into sensorimotor involvement – also called embodiment – in language learning and processing.
