Research foci of the Chair of Behavioural Psychotherapy
What makes psychotherapy effective? What mechanisms of mental disorders and what impact factors on side of the psychotherapist are crucial for a successful psychotherapy?
The work of our chair is dedicated to answering these questions. For this purpose we designed conducted numerous randomized controlled trials testing novel and improved forms of cognitive behavioral therapy. In our group, the principle of the exposure treatment was transferred to the Generalized Anxiety Disorder for the first time. In recent years, we have developed and successfully tested efficient short-term group therapies for unipolar depression, for fear of blushing and for test anxiety. In addition, we are among the world's leading research groups in the field of social anxiety disorder.
