Statement of the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy on the PPP-Study
In a report published in February 2021, an investigative commission at the TU Dresden found violations of good scientific practice by a former professor of the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. The university's detailed press statement on this can be found here.
As members of the Institute, we were shocked and dismayed by the behavior described in the investigation report. We therefore welcome the comprehensive clarification of the events and thank the investigative commission for its extensive work.
The principles of good scientific practice are the guidelines of our work as scientists and teachers. It is our constant endeavor to follow these principles in our daily work. This also includes the collegial and appreciative cooperation at the institute. Open exchange, transparency and a culture of dialogue are the basis of our cooperation. We are currently planning a "future workshop" in which we, as a community of all institute members, will exchange ideas on how we want to conduct research, teach and work therapeutically at the institute.
It is our belief that both good scientific practice and respectful cooperation are necessary in order to gain scientific knowledge, transfer it to society and educate students.
The statement was discussed in a staff meeting and decided on in the institute council of the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy.
