Christian Woll has been a post-doctoral fellow at Prof. Dr. Anna-Lena Zietlow’s department since April 2023. His research focuses on the effects of peripartum parental mental health on child development. He is particularly interested in peripartum depression and anxiety disorders, parental reflective functioning, and bonding. He applies self-report as well as psychophysiological measures, and micro- and macroanalytically analyses interactional data.
Research interests
- Transgenerational effects of parental mental health issues, i.e. pre- and postpartum depression and anxiety, impaired parental reflective functioning, and early traumatic experiences, on child cognitive and socio-emotional development and child mental health
- Transmission pathways on the emotional (caregiver-child relationship), dyadic-behavioral (caregiver-child interaction), and the regulatory (stress reactivity) level
- Pre- and postpartum bonding and bonding impairment
- Metascience
