YAM-5-D
Anxiety disorders are common and occur in about 10% of children and adolescents. The most accurate and early detection of anxiety disorders is important for their further course and the reduction of physical and mental problems. For this purpose, paediatricians, therapists and other s need diagnostic instruments to accurately detect anxiety disorders within a short period of time and orient themselves on the current state of knowledge. Problematically, there is no such questionnaire in German for this purpose. Therefore, we have translated the Youth Anxiety Measure for DSM-5 (YAM-5; Muris et. al., 2016) into German. We want to make this questionnaire also available in German and thus help many children and adolescents with anxiety disorders and their parents.
The questionnaire was piloted in an upper school class, checked for visual validity and presented to pupils in grades 5 to 9 with the aim of determining psychometric characteristics.
