An Introduction to the Department
The chair of psychology of learning and instruction provides course work and research in the popular and highly competitive academic tracks of psychology (Bachelor, Master) and educational sciences. The main areas of interest for our basic and applied research projects are smart learning, teaching, and instruction – with a particular focus on the design and evaluation of cognitively activating learning tasks and interactive feedback strategies.

Research
In the field of Smart Teaching, we focus on the professionalisation of pedagogical staff. We are developing concepts for the active, reflected use of learning materials in the area of smart learning. We implement Smart Instruction by designing innovative instructional scenarios.
Education
We teach and supervise students of psychology in the bachelor's and master's degree in Human Performance in Socio-Technical Systems (HPSTS). For teaching degrees students, we offer classes and lectures in the field of the psychology of learning and instruction.
