Guest Students
Guest student applications can be handed in preferably by e-mail.
Interested persons are kindly requested to inform themselves at the respective
teacher whether participation in the virtual course is possible.
Since a guest login is required for later access to the course, the guest login can be requested at the same time.
Everyone who is interested can be a guest student and attend lectures of their choice at Technische Universität Dresden, except for the faculty of medicine.
Please notice, that there is a difference between guest and regular students:
- Guest students are not students of TU Dresden, i.e., they are not enrolled at TU Dresden and therefore auditing a lecture does not include completing assignments or taking any exams. Guest students are not issued certificates of attendance.
- Guest students are not eligible to buy/use the semester ticket for public transport and cannot apply for student grants (BAföG).
- Being a guest student does not influence later applications for regular studies.
Note
TU Dresden opens its lecture halls and invites asylum seekers to come to the university as guest students!
You may choose courses from all courses offered by TU Dresden. If you wish to audit courses you must submit an application to the TU Dresden Centre for Continuing Education. You can fill in the application form. It is recommended to save the application form before filling it in. After checking the application by the Center for Continuing Education you get a guest student card.
Please note the following before submitting your application:
- If you wish to audit courses you must submit a new application each semester to the TU Dresden Centre for Continuing Education.
- There are no application deadlines.
- If the courses you wish to audit are limited entry classes, please have the respective instructor / university lecturer confirm in signing the application form that there are places available in the course.
- Irrespective of the number of courses audited, the fee for guest students is 40.00 EUR per semester. Please read the application form for the conditions for bank transfers of fees. There are no fees charged from Asylum seekers.
- Guest students are issued a guest student card that ensures they are admitted to the classes applied and confirmed.
