ServiceCen­terStudies

You can contact the ServiceCenterStudies student hotline for all questions related to your studies. You can submit enquiries by telephone or e-mail and they will be quickly and competently answered or forwarded to suitable contacts.

Having doubts regarding your choice of course? Are you having difficulties with your studies and considering changing subjects or dropping out? Are you wondering what follow-on course best suits you? Central Student Information and Counselling Services support you with problems you may encounter during your studies with advisory and information services.

Academic Advisory Service

For subject-specific questions, for example on arranging your timetable, individual study organisation, special study requirements or choosing a major, you can contact the Academic Advisory Service of the faculties. There is a designated academic advisor responsible for each study programme.

Interna­tional Office

You are an international student looking for study possibilities at TU Dresden or maybe you are already enrolled at TU Dresden and have questions concerning the organization of your studies? You would love to gain some experiences abroad during your studies but don't know how to proceed? Then come and visit us at the International Office or get in contact via email/telephone.

Admissions Office

The Admissions Office supports you on issues related to applications, course requirements, re-registration or other concerns relating to course organisation. You can personally contact the employees responsible for your study programme during opening hours or contact them via the ServiceCenterStudies hotline.

Examination offices

The examination offices manage examination-related matters and in that capacity issue grade lists and certificates. They are responsible for registration for and de-registration from examinations and provide information on all issues related to exam procedure, for example on registration and resit time limits, the recognition of examination results or the classification and crediting of examination results.

What profession do I want to practice after graduation? How do I find the right job? The Career Service offers workshops and advice on vocational training and supports you with a wide range of offers in your career orientation and career entry.

Officially certified transla­tions

Certificates issued by the TU Dresden (grade certificates, bachelor, master or diploma certificates and doctoral certificates) may be officially certified by the certification offices of the TU Dresden. For attestation, contact the central certification offices of the TU Dresden and bring the original and copies with you.

We invite you to take advantage of TU Dresden’s various advice and service offers during your course:

  • You can receive guidance and information on all subjects related to your studies by contacting the ServiceCenterStudies hotline.
  • Central Student Information and Counselling Services advise you regarding problems you may encounter during your studies and develops individual solutions for your situation in a face-to-face discussion.
  • The Admissions Office supports you on issues related to applications, course requirements, re-registration or other concerns relating to course organisation.
  • The International Office advises prospective and current international students on course requirements and all concerns relating to course organisation. Students planning a stay abroad can also find advice and support here.
  • With Career Service you can take advantage of a comprehensive range of workshops and events and obtain personal advice, helping to find the right path into professional life.
  • Subject-specific questions, for example on timetabling or choosing a major, are answered by the Academic Advisory Service in the different faculties.
  • The examination offices inform you on all issues relating to examination procedures, such as time limits and the recognition of examination results.
  • You can have certificates issued by TU Dresden certified by its certification offices.

Writing in degree programmes

The Writing Centre is the central point of contact regarding the subject of written communication in degree programmes. The writing advisory service provides students with competent support by writing tutors on all subjects related to your written projects. The Writing Centre also organises writing groups, a writing marathon and workshops.

Study with a disability/illness

If you suffer from a health impairment (e.g. a chronic illness) or disability you may well have specific questions on topics and issues related to study planning and coping with your studies. To ensure everyone has the same opportunities to participate in study courses, numerous support and consultancy services are available to you at TU Dresden.
