STUDY SMART: Successful, Motivated, Ambitious, Resilient and Targeted
The European Union offers a variety of funding programs to support research and education as a valuable public good. Our project is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).
The network: STUDY SMART
TheSTUDYSMART network project aims to promote academic success at TU Dresden and facilitate entry into the job market. It is particularly aimed at female and international students as well as student teachers. The network partner SMART WRITING is affiliated with the Writing Center (SZD) at the Center for Continuing Education (ZfW). The SZD designs and tests study-supporting offers in the field of academic reading and writing.

SMART WRITING is involved in the "Female Empowerment" and "Skills4Internationals" work packages as part of the project:
Female Empowerment - Strengthening key skills for academic success
The aim is to provide female students in a protected environment with the key skills they need to successfully shape their academic careers and at the same time be well equipped for their personal and professional future. The courses are specifically tailored to the individual needs and challenges of women studying and are designed to strengthen the participants' self-confidence and sense of self-efficacy. Areas of competence addressed include
- Communication and presentation skills
- Time and self-management
- conflict management
- Leadership and management skills
- Academic writing and working
Skills4Internationals - key skills for international students
The aim is to provide international students with key skills that facilitate their social integration into the university and their studies and help them to achieve their academic goals and have a successful study experience in a foreign education system. In addition, key competencies also support successful entry into the Saxon labor market. Areas of competence addressed include:
- Communication skills
- Teamwork and cooperation skills (especially intercultural cooperation)
- Learning and working techniques (e.g. critical thinking, presentation techniques)
- Academic writing and working in a German subject context
- Time and self-management, stress management
- Self-confidence and empowerment
