Save the Date: Long Night of Writing 2025 on March 6
On Thursday, March 7 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., the big online cooperation event Dresden Science Night of Writing for academic writing and learning for students and doctoral candidates will take place again this year.
- Writing consultants and experts on academic writing will be available for individual consultations in the virtual lobby.
- Anyone who wants to make progress with their texts can come together in the writing room.
- In addition, there will be interactive lectures and workshops on (almost) all questions relating to academic writing and the associated framework conditions in other Zoom conference rooms. These include lectures on challenges such as literature research or time management as well as events on the topic of"Writing and Care Work", "Linguistic Learning - Perspectives Critical of Discrimination", "Working Scientifically with AD(H)S" and an open exchange on"Studying with Neurodivergence".

As in previous years, anyone looking for inspiration on academic writing will find workshops and presentations on topics such as research with and without AI tools, literature management, time management, writing and revising texts, open access and publication tips, as well as individual advice.
The topic of framework conditions for academic work is also part of this year's program again: You will find offers on "Writing and care work", "Communication psychology in the university context","Studying with neurodivergence" or tips from sleep research in the format "Sleep better,
learn better, write better". Yoga and eye training will also be offered again during the breaks.
And those who prefer to use the evening and night to work can learn and write together with other participants in the virtual writing room and benefit from the collaborative atmosphere and group dynamics.
Behind the scenes
The event is organized as a cooperation between the SLUB Dresden, the Writing Center of the TU Dresden, the SchreibCenter and the ULB of the TU Darmstadt and the Writing Workshop of the University of Stuttgart. All offers are developed and provided by experts.
