20 years of the International Tutor programme
The international tutor programme has been supporting international students and applicants for their entry into the TU Dresden since 2004. We are proud to have helped over 16,000 students and applicants with our tutors getting started in Dresden over the last 20 years. The international tutor programme is not only looking back on its successful 20th anniversary, we are also looking forward to dynamic further development of the program in the future.
On 01.06.2024, an alumni reunion of the tutors took place, on which occasion we paid tribute to the important work of the tutors and their contribution to the welcoming culture at TU Dresden.
Here are a few impressions:
Prof. Horlacher welcomed the guests and emphasized the extraordinary and commendable commitment of the former and current tutors.
The current project coordinator, Ms. Szabó-Pretzsch, presented the review and development of the international tutoring program. Many of the guests were also able to find out where there were similarities in their work in the program.
In an interview with two former tutors, the guests found out about the versatility of the work and the great commitment of the tutors, even outside their actual sphere of activity.
The topics "Tutoring - acquiring key skills for your own career?" and "Former tutors as "ambassadors" for tutoring?" were diligently discussed at six theme tables in a World Café.
After the official part of the event was concluded with a thanks to all those who supported the tutorial program and the planning of the event, the subsequent get-together began with a champagne reception. The guests were able to get to know each other and network over delicious food and refreshments.
Our guests came from near and far for the celebration. For example, a former tutor who worked for the International Tutoring Program 10 years ago was happy to travel over 530 kilometers to attend the 20th anniversary of the program.
After 20 years the title of the program has changed into "International Tutoring Program".
