International TUD campus
Since Wednesday, you’ve probably seen a few more international scientists dotted around the campus than usual. Initiated by the ZLSB – in particular the IMPRESS program under the coordination of Maria Richter-Babekoff – they have been invited to TU Dresden to talk about internationalization in teacher education. Around 30 participants from 12 countries have traveled in for the event. Amongst them are TUD Alumni, five of whom belong to the newly founded Alumni Council. They are representing the dozens of international regional ambassadors who have ties to our university. These alumni have returned to their home countries since studying at TUD and now act as important contacts for any of our staff and students looking for support there. At the contact forum, the regional ambassadors provided our teacher training students with information about studying abroad in their countries, and discussed internationalization in teacher education with our experts. They are also planning an alumni week this fall in collaboration with TUD’s Alumni Relations Office. In the future, their contributions will be organized by continent. Here are a few of the faces you may see around campus: Thi Thu Thao Nguyen from Vietnam; Ahmed Abd El Aziz from Egypt; Simon Barbosa from Colombia, Romy Frank from the USA, and Avinash Chekuru from India.
