Sponsors and scholarship holders meet at the annual scholarship celebration to exchange ideas, get to know each other and meet up again. The informal atmosphere provides an opportunity to talk about career prospects and idealistic support. You can find a review of previous celebrations under References.

Review of the scholarship celebration on April 16, 2024

The first live scholarship celebration in five years took place on April 16, 2024 in a new setting at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) of the TUD Dresden University of Technology (TUD). An event that not only celebrated the funding year 2023/24, but in particular the generous support of over 100 sponsors, the outstanding achievements of 343 scholarship holders and the support of the members of the TU Dresden selection committees as well as our ever-growing community of alumni.

After a ceremonial greeting by the Vice-Rector Academic Affairs, Prof. Kobel, who paid tribute to the commitment of all those involved, the second Science Slam of the Deutschlandstipendiat:innen got underway. Six courageous candidates took to the stage and presented their fascinating scientific work to an enthusiastic audience. The jury faced a difficult decision as they used the applause to determine the winners. But thanks to the generous decision of the Society for Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden e. V. to double the main prize, there was not just one, but two beaming winners in the end.

Afterwards, the get-together provided the perfect setting for sponsors and scholarship holders to exchange ideas at their own tables and deepen their own networks. Afterwards, everyone had the opportunity to admire the fascinating axolotls at the science stand. The exciting science quiz rounded off the evening and provided fascinating insights.
