Review of the scholarship ceremony on January 21, 2025
On January 21, 2025, over 300 guests gathered in the modern ambience of the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) to celebrate the 14th scholarship year of the Deutschlandstipendium at TU Dresden. This year's event had a special significance: A new record was set with 352 scholarships awarded, underlining the ever-growing importance of the program.
The evening began with a warm welcome from the Deutschlandstipendium team. Presenters Franziska Plathner, Sophia Trotzer and Jeremiah Peterson led through the program and made the guests - including scholarship holders, sponsors and alumni - feel equally welcome.
The Rector of TU Dresden, Prof. Dr. Ursula Staudinger, emphasized the importance of the scholarships in a video message: "With this program, we not only promote the academic achievements of young talents, but also strengthen their social responsibility and commitment. Congratulations to all scholarship holders!"
Another highlight was the ceremonial presentation of certificates, at which particularly committed scholarship holders from initiatives such as the "Stips4Stips Matching Challenge" and the new "Elektro-Start Scholarship" were honored. Both projects exemplify the range and social added value of the Deutschlandstipendium. Inspiration was also provided by the guest lecture by Prof. Bärbel Bergmann-Matern, who impressively described in her educational biography how challenges and support can work together to achieve academic and personal milestones.
In addition to the content of the program, musical contributions by Annika Jannasch (violin) and Johannes Strohhäcker (cello) provided atmospheric moments.
Afterwards, the get-together invited guests to socialize and exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. A special highlight was the interactive puzzle at the AG stands, where visitors could get to know the ideal network of the Deutschlandstipendium. The winners were delighted to receive attractive prizes.
With 116 sponsors supporting the program and numerous working groups, the Deutschlandstipendium at TU Dresden is a good example of solidarity and community. The 2024/25 scholarship ceremony once again proved that academic excellence and social commitment can go hand in hand. We would like to thank everyone involved and look forward to another successful scholarship year!
