Information on mandatory counseling for professionally qualified persons according to § 18 of the Saxon Higher Education Act
According to the Saxon Higher Education Act, professionally qualified applicants (without a high school diploma) who have completed advanced vocational training or wish to register for the entrance examination must attend an counseling session at the university.
Where can I attend the mandatory counseling session?
The counseling session is offered by the Central Student Information and Counseling Service. You can use the open consultation hours, arrange an individual counseling appointment or contact them by telephone.
What is the counseling session about?
The counseling session offers you the opportunity to clarify open questions about your studies. Your questions about the study requirements, the application, the requirements and study organization, the framework conditions of the degree course or the start of the degree course can be clarified during the consultation. If necessary, you will receive support in making a decision about a course of study.
There is no assessment during the interview; you will always receive a confirmation of participation from us.
Where and when do I have to submit the counseling certificate?
The proof of counseling completed by the Central Student Information and Counseling Service must be sent to TUD Dresden University of Technology together with the required documents for enrollment. You must have previously applied via TU Dresden's online application portal. For admission-restricted (NC) degree programs, the form must only be submitted with the enrollment documents after admission has been granted.
Exception: Professionally qualified students applying for Human Medicine, Medicine and Dentistry must apply for recognition in advance at the Admissions Office.
What other counseling and information services are available at TU Dresden?
