World Toilet Day, November 19 &;20, 2026: Water Education for School Classes
To mark World Toilet Day, the project team behind the Interreg-SNCZ "IDEAL" project is offering an interactive program for school classes of various age groups (starting in 8th grade).
In about two hours, students will learn interesting facts about wastewater treatment, surface water monitoring, and legal regulations at the EU, national, and regional levels through the “Water-without-Borders” quiz. The problem of water pollution is brought to life through various experiments, while students also learn about different wastewater treatment systems. Here, students can conduct their own simulations, measurements, pipetting exercises, and exposure tests.
Career guidance is also part of the event, which introduces professions requiring both academic and non-academic backgrounds. These range from biologists and chemists to wastewater treatment plant operators and pharmacologists.
When?
On November 19, 2026 (World Toilet Day itself) from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on November 20, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
