Job description
The occupational profile of a textile and fashion seamstress is very diverse. The main task of textile and fashion seamstress is the independent production of textile products (e.g. clothing, functional and medical textiles) according to cut patterns. Moreover, you plan the entire production process, prepare for the manufacturing and also carry out quality inspections. You will work with a wide variety of joining machines on a regular basis. In addition to the frequently used sewing machines, you also use ironing, cutting and welding machines. Due to the increasing variety of products and growing demands, the textile industry increasingly needs highly qualified skilled workers.

The apprenticeship offers a unique combination of practical and theoretical training, enabling you to develop your creative potential and strengthen your skills in the textile field as a textile and fashion seamstress. Training focus
• Conception and design of textile products
• Selection and combination of textile materials; learning of joining techniques
• Independent creation of textile products according to cut patterns
• Ironing and fusing of textile materials as well as maintenance of sewing machines
• Participation in on going research projects in the field of textile products
Qualification opportunity
After successful completion of this training, an extension of one year is possible for the vocational qualification of textile and fashion tailor (m/f/d).
