Regular physical activity not only improves physical fitness, but also promotes mental well-being and reduces the risk of various illnesses. Furthermore, a steady routine of physical activity is a useful strategy for coping with stress and promoting regeneration. Establishing an exercise-based lifestyle, such as climbing stairs instead of using the elevator, is a good starting point for increasing physical activity. Offers and Activities
The University Sports Centre has teamed up with the Occupational Health Services to offer the “active break”. Led by a personal trainer and lasting 15 minutes, this sporty alternative to the usual break takes place in small groups in the workplace itself.

The University Sports Centre offers a wide variety of sport courses. These take place mainly during the semester, but also partly during the semester break. Among the courses available, some are intended exclusively for employees. More information about these particular courses can be found on the University Sport Centre’s website under M – Mitarbeiter Sport.

TU Dresden has been certified as a family-friendly university since 2007. The main objective is to support students and employees in reconciling work/study and family life.
The University Sports Centre (DHSZ) joined the TU initiative audit "family-friendly university" in 2007 and offers special courses for students and employees with their children. In 2012, the DHSZ received the prize for the most family-friendly institution at TU Dresden.

The Techniker Krankenkasse has teamed up with the Occupational Health Services to offer the preventions classes Back Fit, Back Fit light for employees and functional circle training (cross training) for students. The one-hour courses are held at the TK Point or at the Sportpark.

Centrally located on the main campus between the Fritz-Förster Building and the Technische Leitzentrale, the exercise trail provides everyone with the opportunity to get their blood pumping, right at the heart of TUD. It consists of four pieces of equipment, which are designed to train both balance and strength.
