TUD conducts extensive research into mental health. New scientific and therapeutic approaches presented in Sächsische Zeitung supplement
Mental health is a topic we are encountering more and more frequently in times of rising stress levels. It encompasses many aspects of health and is often placed on an equal footing with physical health. For mental health, it is crucial that there is a balance between the demands and the resources available.
The latest Sächsische Zeitung newspaper supplement reports on the extensive research being conducted by scientists at TU Dresden into various aspects of mental health and mental illness.
The article, “Using an app to better understand depression and bipolar disorder,” delves into how distressing emotional disorders are for those who suffer from them and how costly they are to society. Prof. Michael Bauer explains how a TUD Collaborative Research Center is breaking new ground in the research of these mental illnesses.
“Medcine can also be digital” – In this interview, Prof. Corinna Jacobi explains why she and her team have been researching digital care for mental health for years.
And Prof. Philipp Kanske is also embarking on new approaches to emotion research: “Can we train stress away?” also sheds light on how social environment and mental health are mutually dependent.
