City Light campaign in Dresden showcases TUD's achievements and its people
Joint announcement by TUD Dresden University of Technology and the City of Dresden
In cooperation with the state capital Dresden, TUD Dresden University of Technology is now bringing its new brand identity and modernized corporate design to the city of Dresden. Starting on September 30, 2025, just in time for the start of the semester, a poster campaign will be launched in 100 City Light boxes. The posters will be on display for two weeks at central locations throughout the city. The campaign will be supplemented by 74 digital screens featuring a motif for students to mark the start of the semester. The City of Dresden is providing these City Light boxes to TUD free of charge.
A total of ten motifs show how TUD's excellent research benefits the city and the importance it has for society. This is the first time the university has presented itself as comprehensively in the city, showing what it stands for as “The Collaborative University.”
The motifs illustrate TUD's redefined brand identity “Collaborative. inventive, transformative, engaged,” and use faces and stories to lend it a tangible form. TUD researchers are shown in their work environments, illustrating the breadth of research and teaching at our university: from innovative mobility concepts and bridge safety to political education and microelectronics to cancer therapy and astrophysics. They show the impact of knowledge: how scientific ideas find their way into business and society, how new technologies are created – and how TUD, together with its members, develops answers to the big questions of our time.
