(Un)freedom to travel - new exhibition in the Cabinet of the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections shows works by Annemirl Bauer
The exhibition will open on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 7:00 pm in the Gallery of the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections in the Görges Building.
"(Un)freedom to travel - works by Annemirl Bauer”
The exhibition (May 31 to September 20, 2024) will present a selection of works from the extensive estate of the artist Annemirl Bauer. It was compiled as part of the research project "Affective Archives - Journeys abroad by artists during the GDR era" at TU Dresden (Prof. Dr. Kerstin Schankweiler, Jule Lagoda and Nora Kaschuba; funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation), in cooperation with the Art Collection of the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections of TU Dresden (Gwendolin Kremer, Andreas Kempe and Pauline Hohn) and Amrei Bauer (Annemirl Bauer House and Archive/Niederwerbig).

The exhibition is part of the symposium "UN(FREEDOM TO TRAVEL - Mobilities of Artists during the Cold War" at the Albertinum of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (Dresden State Art Collections).
