Family concerns us all - two events on the equal assumption of family responsibilities
Before starting a family, many couples wish to share the care work. Young men in particular want to spend more time with their offspring and take on a more active role in care work. However, studies show that many parents fall back into traditional roles after giving birth.
On December 5 and December 6, 2024, the Diversity Management is offering two exciting events for all students and employees with (planned) family responsibilities at TUD:
- 5.12. from 3 - 4:30 pm: Lecture "Mind the gap - Family concerns everyone" followed by a discussion, in which "gaps" of all kinds will be addressed and substantiated with figures, including Gender Time Gap, Gender Care Gap.
- 6.12. from 11 am -12:30 pm: Workshop "Explosives under the kitchen table", which deals with the question of how parents imagine the distribution of paid work and family work after the birth and how this can be discussed with the partner.
The speaker for the lecture and workshop will be Nicole Beste-Fopma, an expert on the compatibility of family and career. She is an author/journalist, moderator, speaker, publisher, trainer/coach from Frankfurt/Main.
