IHI Zittau welcomes more than 100 new students from 20 nations on four continents
At IHI Zittau, the positive trend of the past years continues: The class of 2023 for the five Master's programs is not only stronger than in the previous years, it even crosses the three-digit mark again after a long time. More than 100 students from 20 countries on four continents start their studies in Zittau. The exact number will be known after the last visa problems for students from outside the EU have been clarified.
Another novelty after a break of several years: German students are not the largest group among the "newcomers", but students from the neighboring Czechia, who start a double degree program with the TU Liberec. Generally speaking: The more international our programmes are, the greater the demand; the English-language courses now attract significantly more students to Zittau than German-language programs.
As a result, a good 260 students from 40 nations are now studying at IHI Zittau.
At the welcome event on October 9, 2023, in the civic hall of the Zittau town hall, IHI Director Prof. Thorsten Claus and representatives of IHI Zittau's international partner universities were joined by former Minister of State Prof. Andreas Pinkwart of TUD excite and Prof. Günther Hasinger, founding director of the German Center for Astrophysics.
