TU Dresden: Apply now for the winter semester – 119 degree programs to choose from!
Prospective students who have passed their Abitur (direct university entrance qualification) exams, can now take the next step and apply for their chosen degree program at TU Dresden. There are 119 degree programs on offer, including 49 undergraduate and 70 postgraduate programs for those wanting to continue their studies.
You can look for your desired degree program now by logging onto the Study Information System (SINS for short) and then apply online. For the 16 undergraduate degree programs with restricted admission and the 13 teacher training programs, the deadline is July 15. You can view the timeline from the submission of your application to the start of your studies here.
The Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Bachelor’s degree program is a new addition to the roster, a combined program in which you can study two majors from the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science or choose a subject from the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies as your second major. Biology has also been established as a teacher training subject for secondary schools (Oberschule and Gymnasium) and vocational schools. Chemistry Engineering and Automotive Engineering will join the list of available teacher training subjects at vocational schools. An overview of further changes and additions can be found here: https://tu-dresden.de/sins/neues-zum-ws.
Overall, the range of degree programs on offer at TU Dresden is extensive: There are not only degree programs that cater to the natural sciences, engineering and transport sciences, but also to the humanities, teacher training, business and economics, education, forest sciences, geosciences, hydrosciences, computer science, and medicine. Unlike many other universities, TU Dresden also offers the Diplom qualification in addition to the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs and the State Examination for a number of subjects.
But it’s not only the quantity that distinguishes our university, the quality is also a top priority at the University of Excellence TU Dresden. TU Dresden can officially accredit its own degree programs with it's quality management system for studying and teaching. This system accreditation highlights TU Dresden’s efforts in striving for excellence in teaching and research.
The secret ingredient to success at TU Dresden is the interdisciplinary cooperation, international focus, early involvement of students in current research, and a high degree of emphasis on skills for career success.
In addition to providing optimal study conditions and short study times, Dresden is an affordable, multicultural city, which also makes the university exceedingly attractive. Dresden offers a broad range of leisure activities including: museums, theaters, operas, cinemas, international music festivals, sports facilities, trendy districts such as Dresdner Neustadt, student clubs and discos, cycling and hiking paths and not least, the unique Elbe landscape with the impressive Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
