Graduate reunion: Alumni remain loyal to their alma mater even after 50 years
Alumni Reunion: Alumni remain true to their alma mater even 50 years after graduation
A small gesture can have a big impact. For several years now, TU Dresden’s Alumni Relations Office has awarded anniversary diplomas for alumni. When they come back to visit their alma mater, alumni also have the opportunity to receive a Silver, Golden or Diamond Diploma celebrating their 25th, 50th or 60th graduation anniversary, respectively. It is a sign of allegiance and appreciation that is met with a lasting positive response.
This year alone, a seminar group of 1,000 visiting alumni will have the opportunity to attend lectures at their various faculties and accept their Golden Diploma as part of a moving ceremony. In June, an entire graduating class of 160 Mechanical Engineers came back to visit TUD together, one of whom came all the way from Hungary for the occasion. 180 Traffic Science Engineers will come back this year, with five reunions scheduled for September and two for October.
The alumni’s gratitude also pays off for the current generation of students. One recipient of a Golden Diploma in Chemistry writes, “My deepest thanks for your successful efforts in preparing the certificates in this short time. Our reunion was fantastic and everyone was thrilled to receive their Golden Diplomas. Our group would like to join together to fund a Deutschland scholarship for one year.”
