As we all know, children and young people are extremely curious. The constant "why, but why? why?" when looking at various phenomena of the world can sometimes drive parents crazy. Even schools can reach their limits here. This holds true in particular when it comes to the challenges of today - be it in the areas of sustainability, mobility and environmental protection or future topics such as robotics, nanotechnology and quantum physics.

TU Dresden, with its cutting-edge research in these and many other fields, wants to help bridge this gap and has set up countless projects for students and teachers as well as collaborations with individual schools. Some departments even develop modules that fit into the current curricula. On top of that, individual research projects have developed a wide range of games that engage young people with science with a gamified approach, both online and offline.

Bundling and coordinating all of these activities is the task of TU Dresden's point of contact for schools, which facilitates dialog between schools and our university. There is also a vested interest, of course: "We definitely want to bring young people into contact with the university and, in the best case, get them excited about studying," says Nadja Bauer, Head of TU Dresden's point of contact for schools.

The current special TUD supplement in the Sächsische Zeitung presents the work of the point of contact for schools at TU Dresden as well as selected projects. Moreover, it includes many tips on contacts and additional resources.
