Setting an example for cosmopolitanism and peaceful coexistence: TU Dresden participates in "Dresden is(s)t bunt" culinary festival
TUD Dresden University of Technology is committed to diversity, cosmopolitanism, and peaceful coexistence. For this reason, as in previous years, TUD is participating in the “Dresden is(s)t bunt” culinary festival. By participating in the communal meal, TUD is emphasizing its strong commitment to democracy and the values that are inextricably linked to it, such as respect, diversity, and cosmopolitanism. On September 1, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the event will once again bring together people from different nations and with a wide variety of lifestyles to celebrate the openness of our society. This year, the event will take place on Hauptstraße – from Neustädter Markt to Jorge-Gomondai-Platz.
"Hospitality, diversity, and our peaceful community in Dresden – that's what ‘Dresden is(s)t bunt’ stands for. And these values are also essential for us as a university. Science and research thrive on international cooperation and the free exchange of thoughts and ideas,“ explains Roswitha Böhm, Vice-Rector University Culture and Internationalization at TUD. ”That is why we, the university administration, but also the university as a whole, support the banquet and the positive signal of peaceful coexistence that it sends.”
In addition to Professor Böhm, employees from the International Office and the Directorate University Culture will also be joining the banquet. Furthermore, researchers from the Center for Molecular and Cellular Engineering (CMCB) and TUDFaCE Institute for Further and Continuing Education TU Dresden will participate in this celebration of diversity.
