Targets

Science needs freedom. I want to open up options for action for our scientific success, rather than enforce borders. Structures and strategies in administration should be (further) developed in such a way that they meet the requirements of a University of Excellence and are both service and solution-orientated. TUD shall become one of the most attractive employers in the academic sector.

Tasks

My task is to create the necessary scope of action for the activities in research, teaching, studies and third mission, while maintaining the functioning of the university through reliable administrative, organisational structures and procedures. My areas of responsibility include finance, personnel, general administration, space and property management.

Role

The Chancellor manages the administration of the university in his own Division. He is responsible for the budget and may attend and contribute to any meetings of the university committees any time. The Chancellor is appointed by the Saxon State Ministry for Science Culture and Tourism.
