The University Executive Board consists of the Rector, the Chancellor, four Vice-Rectors. It is responsible for the strategic development of the university and central affairs. The tasks of the University Executive Board are defined in § 87 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSG). The Chief Communication Officer is the permanent representative of the University Executive Board for communication within the University Executive Board. Rector
Prof. Dr. Ursula M. Staudinger
As Rector, Professor Dr. Ursula M. Staudinger is the chairperson of the University Executive Board and determines its guidelines. She is responsible for the structure and strategy of TU Dresden and represents the university in the public domain.
Chancellor
Dipl.-Ök. Jan Gerken
Dipl.-Ök. Jan Gerken heads the administration of the university. He is responsible for the budget, human resources, legal matters, construction, and workplace safety. His role enables him to take part in the meetings of all university committees and to take a position on their work and propositions.
Vice-Rector Digitalization and University Development
Prof. Dr. Lars Bernard
As Vice-Rector Digitalization and University Development, Professor Dr. Lars Bernard is responsible for strategies of digitalization as well as the responsible use of IT, the assurance of state-of-the-art IT equipment and IT administration at TU Dresden.
Vice-Rector University Culture and Internationalization
Prof. Dr. Roswitha Böhm
University culture and internationalization are drivers of scientific excellence and permeate all areas of activity at TUD: research, teaching, and transfer. Professor Dr. Roswitha Böhm develops strategies in the Vice-Rectorate to establish a culture of mutual appreciation, sustainable use of resources, and international networking.
Vice-Rector Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning
Prof. Dr. Niels Modler
As Vice-Rector Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, Professor Niels Modler is responsible for the organization and quality of educational programs at TU Dresden, including the further development of degree programs, digital teaching and learning opportunities, and continuing education in university teaching.

As Vice-Rector Research and Technology Transfer, Professor Angela Rösen-Wolff advocates a sustainable, excellent research environment that is oriented toward the common good and enables the optimal transfer of resulting technologies into the economy and society.
