Key aspects
The ZiLL initiates interdisciplinary research-orientated teaching and learning formats, the so-called FLiK modules, which prepare students for everyday work outside the university, provide in-depth insights into research and practice and train interdisciplinary thinking. Furthermore, the ZiLL is a platform to bring researchers from different disciplines into contact with each other and to generate new research ideas from interdisciplinary teaching-learning projects.
As part of the Excellence Strategy "TUD 2028 - Synergy and beyond", the ZiLL is responsible for three programmes to promote research-orientated learning and teaching: Funds for Student Research, Teaching Synergies Programme and Teaching Excellence Tracks.
At the same time, the ZiLL provides advice on the potential applications of digital media in higher education. The ZiLL offers support in the creation of e-learning offers and advises on topics of digital learning and teaching as well as on corresponding funding opportunities (e.g. multimedia fund, fellowships for digital higher education in Saxony).
Furthermore, the ZiLL is responsible for the overall coordination of study success project at TUD. The study success projects accompany and support students on their way to successful graduation. An exemplary study success project is the "Orientation Platform Research & Practice", which is coordinated by the ZiLL. Employing different offers such as team challenges, workshops, excursions, and practical experience weeks a close connection between theory and practice is achieved. Students thereby gain specific insights into possible career fields and research opportunities.
In addition, the ZiLL supports student research at TU Dresden. For example, the Student Research Expo that is organised by the Doctoral Council and several other committed students is held annually. Within the StuFoExpo, student research projects are exhibited.
