Unit 4.6 – Radiation Protection
X-rays and radioactivity are indispensible tools for natural science and technology, and also medical research. The task of the Radiation Protection Office is to make sure, that at TU Dresden no dangers arise from its use.
Our office is your partner in all tasks concerning sources of ionizing radiation:
- radioactive substances
- particle generators and -accelerators
- X-ray devices
- electron microscopy
It operates the Central Radionuclide Laboratory of TU Dresden, a radiochemical lab for the work with unsealed radioactive substances. It is open to the personnel of TU Dresden for science and education. The own scientific expertise of the lab is the environmental chemistry of the actinide elements.
Please, do not hesitate to contact us if you plan to use radioactivity or ionizing radiation at TU Dresden or even if you simply have questions about this topic. It is our pleasure to help you!
