200 years of TU Dresden - The university anniversary in 2028
In May 2028, TU Dresden will kick off the celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of its foundation and thus mark the start of the subsequent anniversary celebrations. The 200-day celebration program, which will run until November 2028, will provide an opportunity to highlight and strengthen the relevance, effectiveness and social contribution of TU Dresden in the region, in Saxony and in Germany.
TU Dresden invites its guests, students and employees, as well as citizens and local and international partners to the campus and to events in the region with a diverse program of festivities that will focus on current topics and focal points of TU Dresden.
TU Dresden will present itself as a cosmopolitan, committed, responsible, regionally anchored and internationally oriented top university that is helping to shape the transformation of science and society in a forward-looking way.
There will be thematic offerings and contributions that address the current challenges of our time. In a variety of joint events and formats, which will contribute to closer networking and cooperation with stakeholders from politics, business, media and society as well as the science community, we will invite people to exchange ideas and participate as well as reflect on the eventful history of TU Dresden. Our important global partners, whether from Europe, the USA, India or Taiwan, will also help shape the program.
The anniversary will therefore not only commemorate achievements and celebrate current accomplishments, but also pave the way for future developments, transformations and successes at TU Dresden.
Research project: Dresden University of Technology under National Socialism. Transformations of knowledge and science in the 20th century
On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of its founding in May 2028, the project examines the history of Technische Hochschule Dresden against the backdrop of political changes and interventions in the scientific community in the 20th century. The focus is on the development of knowledge, technology and research resources.
