Bench sponsorship subproject for the TU Dresden campus
The installation of benches as a meeting point, a place for communication or a place to pause for a moment represents another milestone in the implementation of the campus design master plan. The Society of Friends and Supporters of TU Dresden (GFF for short) provided the impetus for the realization.
To mark the 30th anniversary of its re-establishment as the Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden, it launched a fundraising campaign in December 2021 entitled "Sponsor benches for the campus". And the response was impressive: in addition to donations from numerous members and network partners of the GFF itself, Chairs, teams from Central Units, former university members and alumni also took part following a campus-wide appeal. Thanks to this joint campaign, it was possible to commission the production of 19 benches from these funds. Together with the TU Dresden Foundation, 21 sponsored benches have now been installed and used on campus.
