The Campuscard
With the Campuscard or simply your student ID (you can find out more about this in our topic Starting your studies), you automatically have a semester ticket. This means that you can use public transport throughout Germany free of charge throughout the semester or wherever the Deutschlandticket is valid. If you pay the semester fee, you will automatically receive a semester ticket again and again. You can find this in the Campuscard portal. Once you have logged in there with your ZIH login, you can easily add the ticket to a wallet of your choice on your cell phone. This way, you can show it together with your ID card at security checks.

Public transportation
With your semester ticket, you can of course also travel by bus and streetcar in Dresden. You can reach the main campus in the Südvorstadt district on lines 3 and 8 or bus lines 61, 66 and 85. You can also use line 61, the so-called campus line, as it connects the entire main campus. The lines usually run every 10 minutes, line 61 even runs every 5 minutes during the semester.

TIP: download the DVB app on your smartphone, there you can easily look up connections
Mobibikes
Thanks to the semester ticket, you can also use the Mobibikes, which are available all over the city, free of charge for half an hour. If public transport is too full or you need to get from one event to another quickly, you can simply grab a bike.
