Call for Participation: Discussion with External Reviewers on the UN CRPD Evaluation at TUD
TUD is continuing to develop its action plan for implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD)—and you can get involved!
What is it about?
Action Plan 2.0 (covering the period 2022–2027) is set to be adopted by the end of 2027, at which point Action Plan 3.0 will be adopted, and it will be accompanied by an external evaluation. This evaluation will be conducted by the Saxony Equal Opportunities Coordination Office (KCS) and five additional external experts who bring extensive expertise in the areas of inclusion at universities, accessibility, and the UN CRPD.
As part of this evaluation, an on-site visit will take place on September 1 and 2, 2026. We, the Diversity Management team at TUD, cordially invite you to participate in a confidential discussion with the group of external experts.
Who can participate?
The discussion is open to all students—regardless of whether they are studying with or without disabilities, chronic illnesses, or impairments. Every perspective is important and welcome in fostering a diverse and inclusive dialogue.
Why Your Participation Is Important
You have firsthand experience with the challenges of studying with a disability or chronic illness. Your perspective can help:
- break down barriers,
- make TUD more inclusive,
- and thereby improve the student experience for you and future students.
What can you expect?
You’ll have the opportunity to discuss your perspectives in a confidential and safe setting. The following topics could be the focus:
- How do students with disabilities experience TUD?
- What opportunities for participation exist—and which ones are missing?
- Your wishes and needs regarding the further implementation of the action plan.
The discussion will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The session will last approximately 45 minutes and can be held either online or in person, depending on your needs. You’ll receive details on how to participate (e.g., link or location) after you register.
