Germany-wide survey on discrimination launched
The Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency (ADS) is calling on all people aged 14 and over who have experienced discrimination in Germany to take part in its major survey "Survey on discrimination in Germany - Your experience counts!". diskriminierung-umfrage.de
Participation is voluntary, online and completely anonymous. If required, a paper questionnaire in German or plain language can also be requested. The survey is deliberately wide-ranging: experiences of discrimination are recorded, for example at work, at school, when looking for accommodation or when shopping - on the basis of gender, skin color, sexual orientation, language, age, social background, religion/belief, appearance, disability or chronic illness.
The ADS describes three central reasons for the survey: firstly, that personal experience reports make discrimination more visible; secondly, that reliable data and facts enable change; and thirdly - somewhat ironically - that everyone "loves surveys". The survey will run from November 12, 2025 to February 28, 2026, and the results will be published in 2027.
It's worth taking part: every single vote helps to make discrimination more visible in everyday life and improve political and social opportunities for action.
