Future Lab Inclusion 3.0 at TUD

Inclusion is a university-wide, long-term commitment to institutional development. TUD aims to enable all individuals to participate equally and independently in academic studies, teaching, research, and employment, and to continuously break down existing barriers.

With its first action plan for implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, TUD established a binding strategic framework for its development into an inclusive university as early as 2017. Action Plan 2.0 has continued this process and further developed the goals and measures in the six areas of action:

• physical and digital accessibility,

• studying,
• teaching and research,
• employment,
• quality management, and
• awareness and communication.

Implementing the measures and achieving the goals is an ongoing process that must be regularly reviewed and adapted to changing conditions and needs. Against this backdrop, Action Plan 2.0 is to be updated through a participatory process and further developed into Action Plan 3.0.

The Future Lab Inclusion 3.0 represents an important step in this process. As a TUD-wide forum for participation and dialogue, it serves to reflect on developments to date, bring together experiences and perspectives, and identify areas where action is needed. The focus is on how the TUD can continue to shape its development into an inclusive university and what priorities should be set in Action Plan 3.0—taking into account diverse perspectives, the further development of existing approaches, and new ideas for sustainable improvements in participation.
