Call for proposals "TUD in Dialogue" – Promoting discourse with society
TU Dresden aims to intensify its eye-to-eye engagement with society and would also like to increase the public’s participation in generating knowledge. For this reason, the university initiated the “TUD in Dialogue” Excellence measure. Within the scope of this measure, TUD departments with plans for programs that meet this objective can apply for funding.
“TUD in Dialogue” aims to establish a transdisciplinary dialogue with society. Through innovative, modern science communication tailored to the target group, TU Dresden's visibility is strengthened. At the same time, the program can contribute to the deliberations and development of solutions for the pressing challenges of our time and the future. Therefore, issues of societal relevance should be under the spotlight. Moreover, the proposed topics and formats should be in line with TU Dresden's strategic goals and its university culture – the promotion of democracy, participation, transparency and appreciation.
The proposal may take the form of offline events such as public panel discussions, exhibitions and contests, but may also be online platforms such as blogs, forums and social media accounts. Citizen science projects are eligible for funding, too. In these projects, researchers and non-university parties work together to generate knowledge, which enables particularly profound idea sharing between university and society.
Anyone planning projects along these lines for 2023 can apply for funding line 1 until June 30, 2022. Funding line 2 is available for smaller and short-term projects planned for this year. This provides financial support of up to 1,000 EUR. The next application deadlines for funding line 2 are June 1, October 1 and December 1.
