A play about the history of migration in East Germany will be put on from July 6 to 7 in Dresden. The nine amateur actors will address everyday topics they themselves have encountered to some degree as people with a migration background or people of color living in Saxony. The play was inspired by the citizen research project "MigOst – Ostdeutsche Migrationsgesellschaft selbst erzählen" (MigOst – self-narratives of East Germany’s migrant society) currently being carried out at the TUD’s Center for Integration Studies, which has collected migrant perspectives on the GDR era, the years of reunification, and the present in three East German cities. The stories are now being given a stage thanks to the collaboration with the Dresden State Theater and the support of TUD in Dialog.
