Queer Parenthood - interdisciplinary event series at the TUDWorkshop "Queer-sensitive interaction with patients"
A relationship of trust between the practitioner and the person seeking treatment is essential for needs-based and high-quality medical treatment.
Patients who have had bad experiences in the health system often lack this trust. This also includes trans*, inter* and non-binary (tin) people and all others who fall outside the gender norm of man and woman. Furthermore, it can happen that their needs are not sufficiently seen and taken into account because they are not or cannot be known to the practitioners.
The workshop raises awareness of the perspectives, barriers and needs of tin people in health care.
In small group work and practical exercises, there will be the opportunity to develop impulses for action in the work context. In addition, suggestions will be given on how health care can be designed in such a way that trans*, inter* and non-binary people feel welcome.
We want to create an error and learning friendly space, where there is room for questions and uncertainties and different expertises are fruitfully brought together.
Workshop leader: Nick Heinz (er) and Lio Riske (-) from Trans-Inter-Aktiv in Mitteldeutschland e.V.
If you encounter any barriers to participation, please report them back.
