Living Lab Lecture SeriesLiving Lab Lecture No. 34: Demystifying Data Stream Processing
In today’s digital world, data is being generated at an unprecedented rate, often in the form of continuous streams. These data streams are ubiquitous, arising from various sources such as social media, sensor networks and more. But what happens to this data once it’s generated? This lecture explores the concept of these data streams and discusses the different aspects of their processing, including current techniques and their challenges. Additionally, self-adaptive mechanisms are introduced that enable systems to automatically adjust to changing data conditions, improving efficiency, scalability, and accuracy. These mechanisms play a crucial role in unlocking the full potential of data stream processing in modern applications.
