Training Workshop Recap: Working Together to Further Develop Effective Teaching

How can you make your own course even better? What new ideas can you try out in the coming semester? And what role can artificial intelligence play in this?

On September 8, 2026, more than 30 faculty members from various departments explored these and many other questions at the Teaching Workshop at TUD. For one day, the focus was on the concrete further development of their own teaching—in a focused, quiet work atmosphere with plenty of room for exchange and inspiration.

The teaching workshop deliberately offered a variety of ways to structure the day: During individual work sessions, participants could focus on their own courses, while collegial discussions, one-on-one and group consultations, and various thematic roundtables opened up new perspectives and provided concrete suggestions.

The range of topics spanned gamification and exam pedagogy, innovative teaching and learning approaches, and the integration of AI into teaching. Several keynote presentations explored different perspectives: from the pedagogical foundations for using AI to alternative exam formats in the AI era, and the impact of AI on student writing.

The numerous discussions, the intensive interdisciplinary exchange, and the dedicated work on participants’ own teaching concepts made the teaching workshop an inspiring day focused on the further development of quality teaching.
