StuFoExpo 2020
StuFoExpo 2020 review
As most other events, the StuFoExpo was impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning that it was fully online over BigBlueButton for the first time on September 1, 2020.
Vice-Rector Research Prof. Rösen-Wolff held the opening address, followed by a keynote speech by Dr. Ronny Timmreck from Senorics GmbH. His introductory presentation was dedicated to his experiences founding a company after his studies and research at TU Dresden.
The event welcomed guests from teaching and research, but the students primarily ran the show. These early-career researchers presented 19 different research projects over the course of the event. The interdisciplinary program featured 90-second pitches of each project, followed by a poster session where the students and audience could talk about the research projects together in greater detail.
A jury of university lecturers, research and teaching associates, and one doctoral candidate awarded prizes of €300 to each of the three top projects. The evaluation of content and presentational quality gave way to three prize-winners:
Gabriel Schütz de Souza (Faculty of Computer Science), Alexander Busch (Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering), and Ron Richter (Centre for Translational Bone, Joint and Soft Tissue Research).
Originator of the StuFoExpo Benjamin Wolba (KIT) gave the closing remarks to the informative and enriching evening.
The StuFoExpo team extends its gratitude to all guests, members of the jury and participating students for attending.
