TUD Continuing Education Day for course leaders in teacher training on September 09, 2022
As part of the teacher training education, the university lays the foundation for the professional development of prospective teachers. However, this process does not end when teachers start working at schools , but continues throughout their entire professional career in the spirit of lifelong learning. The constant changes in the demands on schools and the professionalism of teachers, as well as the continuous development of the state of knowledge in science, make teacher training a central instrument of professionalization and quality assurance of school education.
University-based teacher training has a lot to contribute to this development, and in the discourse on education policy, it is not uncommon for universities to be called upon to play a stronger role in teacher education. Many TUD researchers are already involved in teacher training with innovative concepts. Others may consider sharing scientific knowledge with teachers as part of the third mission.
The TUD Continuing Education Day on September 9, 2022 will provide initial insights into the activities of TUD faculty members in the area of teacher education. It is a perfect occasion for exchanging ideas and getting to know each other on a professional and collegial level.
