THE INTERDISCIPLINARY WORK OF THE ZLSB
The Center for Teacher Education and Educational Research (ZLSB) is an interdisciplinary research center at the TU Dresden. Its central function is the organisation of all teacher training courses in cooperation with a variety of faculties and departments that are involved in teacher training and the continuing education for people already working as teachers. Additionally, the ZLSB coordinates research proposals and projects in the context of teacher education and educational research.

THE INTERDISCIPLINARY WORK OF THE ZLSB
The ZLSB was founded in 2005 and is an official research center of the Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden). The main function of the ZLSB is to assure the quality of teacher training and all related tasks and activities that are performed by the faculties and departments. The latter includes all matters regarding the subjects and vocational subjects studied, but also the Dresden College of Music and education authorities. At the TU Dresden, a variety of 23 subjects and 9 vocational subjects can be studied as part of various teacher training courses.
The center is managed by a board of directors, who are supported by an administrative office. The participation and input of the faculties that are involved in teacher training is managed by the Wissenschaftlicher Rat (academic advisory council). Students of teacher training elect their own central student representation. Most projects and work groups are organised by university professors and research assistants. Also, there is a number of associates involved who manage and organise the preparatory service (Vorbereitungsdienst) as well as members of other education authorities (Kultusbehörden). Lastly, there is another advisory council (Kuratorium) whose function is to support and advise the ZLSB.
