DELPHIN and SIM-VICUS Promotion Workshops held in Shanghai with EXU programs for the internationalization of TUD
With support from EXU internationalization programs of TUD, representatives from the DELPHIN and SIM-VICUS developer teams recently conducted a half-day introductory workshop at the 18th International Building Performance Simulation Association Conference and Exhibition. Subsequently, they held a two-day workshop at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University on 8 and 9 September 2023. Around forty students, teachers and research staff, as well as a further 30 online Zoom participants, took part in the workshop. The primary objective of these workshops was to enhance awareness, foster knowledge exchange, empower participants, and encourage collaboration within the building simulation field.
The Institute of Building Climatology (IBK) has a prestigious history of over forty years and stands as one of Germany's oldest institutions specializing in this field. Renowned for its deep knowledge in building simulation program development and building material testing, the institute holds a global position as a leader in climatological research for buildings. DELPHIN and SIM-VICUS are two in-house developed simulation programs at IBK.
DELPHIN is a versatile, numerical simulation program designed for analyzing coupled heat, moisture, and mass transport in porous building materials. SIM-VICUS is a modern open-source software for building and district network energy simulations. Based on the user-friendly 3d interface, it aims to make building and network simulations accessible to everyone.
