Objectives and work programme
The unstoppable and unpredictable changes to the climate mean that adaptive measures must be taken on building envelopes. This is a major task for researchers. As part of the REGKLAM collaboration project, an interdisciplinary team of researchers with representatives from politics, administration, business and science look for appropriate solutions.
The REGKLAM project involves the development and testing of an integrated regional climate change adaptation programme for the model region of Dresden In order to limit the effects of climate change and minimise the economic damage, the team is to develop long-term strategies and recommendations for implementation in building structures for a range of building ages.
The focus of the research is on the building envelope structure, which is exposed to all of the effects of the climate in its capacity as the interface between the interior and the exterior. The objective is to identify the changes that climate change will bring along with the resulting additional requirements for buildings and to find suitable solutions for climate change adaptation.
