New literature - Deep learning illustrated (German)
The Institute for Construction Informatics is pleased to announce new literature. Among others, the book Deep Learning illustriert von Krohn, Beyleveld und Bassens (2020) is now available.
Contents (Translated from german)
The first part of the book explains the basics of Deep Learning - why it has become so ubiquitous and how it interacts with concepts and terminologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning or artificial neural networks. In doing so, the authors use understandable analogies, vivid graphics, and many examples.
Building on this foundation, the authors present a practical reference and tutorial for applying proven Deep Learning techniques. Essential theory is covered with as little math as possible and illuminated with Python code. Practical examples to try out, available free online (Jupyter notebooks), make you understand the theory. In this way, you will gain a pragmatic understanding of all major deep learning approaches and their applications: Machine Vision, Natural Language Processing, Image Generation, and Game Algorithms.
